Padel Center in Pae Park

completed 2023

The  padel center at Paepargi 11 is located at the edge of Pae Park, adding a logical layer to the sports and leisure-oriented environment. The building's volume is positioned according to the detailed plan, on the side of the plot closest to Pae Park. The main entrance is in the southeast corner, where one corner of the minimalist volume curves outward, creating a covered shelter.

The landscaping design incorporates solutions that enhance biodiversity and facilitate adaptation to climate change. Abundant greenery will be established around the building, integrating it as seamlessly as possible into the green surroundings of Pae Park.

This is a pragmatic sports hall—since the hall itself does not require windows and a contrasting background can interfere with play, most of the building is windowless. However, the corner of the building that interacts more with Pae Park features a dynamic window pattern, where the size and variation of the windows create a unique sense of scale dissonance.

The two-story section of the building will be constructed from prefabricated reinforced concrete panels, while the main hall structure will be a frame building with posts and trusses made of wood or steel, covered with pastel yet vibrant sandwich panels—subtly nodding to the rhythms of padel's country of origin, Mexico.
